Before I raised my hand in 2007 to volunteer for Senator Barack Obama’s nascent campaign for the Presidency, and followed him on a path that has reshaped my career and life, I kept myself busy for about 10 years with various creative pursuits in Los Angeles. One of my favorite thing to come out of that time is a short film I wrote and co-directed with Paul Grellong.

Parachute is about a precocious young boy who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a checked-out slacker who may or may not be a philanderer. It’s a morality tale for the modern age, starring the sensational Brandon Ratcliffe who some will recognize from Miranda July’s Me and You and Everyone We Know.

We received official selection at about a dozen film festivals, including awards at a few.
